Transferring Your Existing Email

If you have email in your AGMD account that it is import for you to keep, you should transfer those messages to your new inbox. This process can be time consuming, depending on the number of messages you have. Also, if you currently only use your AGMD address in a web browser, you will need to add both that and your new lacagwm.org address to a computer mail client.

This process cannot be done easily on a mobile device, so please use your Mac or Windows computer. The steps below will help guide you through the basic steps. But keep in mind every situation is different.

  1. Open the email client you use to access both of your accounts.

  2. Open your AGMD mailbox.

  3. Select a group of messages. You can do this by selecting the first message, then holding down the shift key and clicking the last message. It is best not to select all your messages at once. Batches of six months at a time is an approriate amount.

  4. Drag the selected messages to your new inbox.

  5. Wait until the transfer is complete. You may or may not get a pop-up window showing you the progress. Check areas at the top and bottom of your application to see a progress indicator.

  6. After that batch is complete, select the next batch and repeat until all your messages are moved over.
